Hotel request guide
Late checkout or a room upgrade: choosing your request
Choose the benefit that would matter most for this trip. A room upgrade changes the stay itself. Late checkout gives you more time on departure day.
Choose a room upgrade when
- The room or view will affect several nights.
- You are comfortable keeping the original room if nothing else is available.
- You want the hotel to consider a complimentary or quoted paid option.
Choose late checkout when
- Your transport leaves well after normal checkout.
- You need a place to work, rest or prepare before leaving.
- Luggage storage would be a useful alternative.
Check existing benefits first
A loyalty tier or room package may already include one of these benefits, subject to its conditions. Confirm the participating hotel, eligible booking and applicable time before asking for something already included.
Late-checkout example
Would a 3pm checkout be possible on 16 October? Please let me know whether there would be an additional charge before changing the booking. If the room is needed, could you let me know whether luggage storage is available?
If you want both
Lead with one priority. Asking for several discretionary benefits at once can make it harder to understand what matters. If the hotel cannot offer the first request, you can ask about the alternative.
Use the late-checkout package example or read the upgrade-request guide.
